Middle Adolescence

In mid-adolescence, when they reach the age of 14-15 adolescents strive to loosen their ties to their parents. This is the stage in which their emotions and intellectual capacities increase, and they begin to take more control of their own educational and vocational pursuits. They become more self dependent and develop a sense of responsibility and find satisfaction in in contributing to the welfare of the society. They become somewhat more adventurous, and try out all sorts of ideas.  This is the time when they develop their own set of values, which may be in conflict with those of parents and that of society.
